About the event

Our Friendship and Fun Club is designed to help children develop essential social and emotional skills in a supportive and fun environment. The program is structured to provide a balanced mix of socialization and targeted skill-building activities. Each session is divided into three 45-minute segments with 15-minute transitions, making it easy for children to stay engaged and energized.

Morning Sessions are 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Program Structure

Socialization Activities 

  • Group Music: Engage in activities like drum circles and karaoke, promoting cooperation and self-expression.
  • Group Art Activities: Collaborate on projects such as mural painting and art show-and-tell to foster teamwork.
  • Dance Activities: Participate in fun activities like freeze dance and choreography creation.
  • Sport Activities: Enjoy team-based sports like relay races and soccer to build physical coordination and teamwork.
  • Leisure Exploration: Discover new hobbies and activities such as knitting, model building, or exploring various stations.
  • Board Games: Play cooperative and strategy games that encourage cognitive and social skills.
  • Gardening: Engage in planting and maintaining a garden, learning patience and care.
  • Cooking: Make simple recipes together, introducing cultural cooking and fostering an appreciation for diversity.

Social Skills Activities 

  • Role-Playing: Practice social scenarios and emotional charades to build empathy and understanding.
  • Group Discussions: Share weekly experiences and solve problems collaboratively.
  • Cooperative Games: Participate in building challenges and story creation to encourage teamwork.
  • Communication Skills: Improve active listening and non-verbal communication through engaging activities.
  • Emotional Regulation: Learn mindfulness exercises and use emotion wheels to discuss feelings.
  • Conflict Resolution: Practice mediation and role-play giving and accepting apologies.

Transitions

  • Relaxation Time: Simple stretching or quiet time to help transition between activities.
  • Group Check-Ins: Brief discussions to reflect on feelings and the previous activity.

We may be able to bill insurance for these hours, however there is a process to it.  Therefore, this is offered on a first come, first serve basis.
